I haven't done this in awhile, so I think I'll start again.
Please feel free to add whatever you have bought recently. I love to hear what other people are listening to. I'm always looking for new music.

Tori Amos - Strange Little Girls
This album is ablolutely amazing. She is truly a masterful singer. She can make her voice portray feelings that we can only wish we could express. This album is truly diverse. The whole thing is covers of a wide range of songs and artists. Check out the Eminem song (track #2), it's a little weird.
Favorite tracks: Enjoy the Silence (Depeche Mode), Happiness is a Warm Gun (The Beatles), Real Men (Joe Jackson)

They Might Be Giants - Mink Car
What can I say about TMBG, another amazing album. They have the ability to take you to the absolute oppisite ends of the musical spectrum. Truly a fantastic group.
Favorite Tracks: Bangs, Man It's So Loud In Here, Mr. Xcitement, Yeh Yeh, WEll, OK, most of the songs are favorites. It's just such a great album.

Tweaker - Attraction To All Things Uncertain
Tweaker's debut album. This is Chris Vrenna's (Formerly of Nine Inch Nails) first solo project. Vrenna has received acclaim as a producer, but now he's trying his hand at a solo career. There are some notable guests on the album: David Sylvian, King Buzzo.
Favorite Tracks: Hard to say, I need to listen to this a little more, but every time I do, I find new stuff.

The Muffs - Happy Birthday To Me
An amazing group. If you have never heard of the Muffs I suggest you pick up an album from them. They are a sort of poppy/punk kinda of thing. Great stuff.
Favorite Tracks: All of them so far.

Bjork - Vespertine
Another great album from Bjork. She shows that she really has a vast array of musical knowledge. If you're a Bjork fan, you'll love this album.
Favorite Tracks: Hidden Place, It's Not Up To You

Orbital - ALtogether
Great album from them. Some really interesting new tracks on here. Good beats. This is their first showing since 1999 so they've had a few years to play with some stuff. If you don't like Electronica, stay away from this one, but if you're a fan or Orbital, or breakbeat, then pick this up.

I listened to a few things while I was at the store as well....

Slayer - God Hates Us All
Some great stuff on here, but I didn't find anything really new. It's typical Slayer, which is good. I don't know, I keep looking for something new from them, but its still the same hard fast sound they always have. I passed on this, but if you like Slayer, this album won't disappoint.

Rollins Band - Nice
Again, basically the same review as the Slayer album. It's typical Rollins. Angry and loud. NICE!

Tori Amos- strange little girls is amazing, my favorite songs off the album so far are: Enjoy The Silence, I'm Not In Love and I Don't Like Mondays.

another cd i just bought is The Best of Sessions at West 54th. (Sessions is an unplugged/storytellers type of show, they always have great artists performing.)The cd's has songs from, Ani Difranco, Ben Folds Five, Natalie Merchant, and Lou Reed, to name a few

...squint your eyes and look closer
i'm not between you and your ambition
i am a poster girl with no poster
i am thirty-two flavors and then some
and i'm beyond your peripheral vision
so you might want to turn your head...
