TWISTED SISTER REUNITES IN FIRST PUBLIC PERFORMANCE FOR ³NEW YORK STEEL²
WTC BENEFIT CONCERT ON NOVEMBER 28
AT HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM

The Ace Frehley Band, Anthrax, Overkill, Sebastian Bach, and
Surprise Guests Also To Perform

Presented and Hosted by WNEW-FM DJ Eddie Trunk
with Special Guest Co-host NY Mets¹ Superstar Mike Piazza

NEW YORK (October 17, 2001) ‹ Metropolitan Entertainment Group (MEG) and
WNEW-FM D.J. Eddie Trunk announced today that they will present ³New York
Steel,² a star-studded hard rock benefit show, at the Hammerstein Ballroom
on Wednesday, November 28th. It will be a fundraiser for the members of the
New York Police and Fire Departments who lost their lives during the rescue
efforts at the World Trade Center disaster.

All of the acts on the bill reside in or are from New York or New Jersey.
Among the top draws will be the reunited classic lineup of 1980s glam-metal
icons, Twisted Sister. The original members ‹ vocalist Dee Snider,
guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, bassist Mark Mendoza, and drummer
AJ Pero‹ will be performing together in public for the first time in 14
years. On November 6th, Spitfire Records will release ³Never Say Never:
Club Daze Vol. 2, Live at the Bars,² a vintage Twisted Sister concert from
1984, with two brand-new tracks recorded by the aforementioned lineup this
year.

For Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French, reuniting the classic lineup of
³We¹re Not Gonna Take It² fame is a logical move. He feels that this event
is the most efficient way to contribute to the cause. Some of the members
have close association with members of the state police and one of the
members has two relatives who worked at the World Trade Center at the time
of the explosion and have survived.

French stresses that the band is currently in rehearsal only for this
occasion, and that they will not be decked with the big hair and vivid
eyeliner from their heyday. ³We will be in black shirts, black jeans, biker
style cut offs - no makeup,² says French, who also stresses that Twisted
Sister should only be regarded as another band on the bill, and not to steer
attention away from the cause of the reunion. ³We are going to make a
difference, raise money, this is what we do. We are musicians, we can play,
we can contribute, that¹s the focus.²

The former frontman of Skid Row, Sebastian Bach, will lead off the benefit.
He will be releasing a CD on November 6, called ³Last Hard Men² (Spitfire).

The benefit will also boast influential hard rock/metal favorites like
Anthrax, Overkill, and The Ace Frehley Band, led by the legendary KISS lead
guitarist. Eddie Trunk will host the show, and be joined on stage by his
sometimes radio show co-host, NY Mets superstar Mike Piazza. Other guests
will be announced in the future.

Eddie Trunk, who is the DJ for WNEW-FM¹s ³Friday Night Rock² and ³Saturday
Night Rock² ‹ the only music shows on this now all-talk station ‹ invited
each of the artists personally. He says that organizing the benefit was his
expression of gratitude for the support he has received from NYC cops and
firefighters over the years. Now he says he gets many calls from police
officers and members of the fire department and emergency medical teams who
continue to work heroically on the recovery mission at Ground Zero. ³They
come up to the studio and shake my hand. They say how much they love the
music and how they can¹t get it anywhere else, and how they need the music
on the show as a diversion. I was shocked that my show means a lot to these
people.²

Debra Rathwell, Vice-President of Metropolitan Entertainment Group says, ³We
feel that ŒNew York Steel¹ will be one of the most eagerly-anticipated shows
this fall. It will aim to benefit, both financially and emotionally, those
who were directly affected by the horrendous disaster in lower Manhattan.
For this night only, it will at least bring some joy to rock fans of all
ages to catch this one-of-a-kind event.²

Tickets are $37.50 each ($40.00 day of show). They will go on sale on
Saturday, October 20 at 12 noon. They can be purchased at all Ticketmaster
outlets, at www.ticketmaster.com and at the Hammerstein box office.
Showtime is 7:00 PM.

Eddie Trunk¹s Friday night show airs from 11 pm to 2 am, and his Saturday
night show airs from 10 pm to 2 am. Updates on the benefit can be found on
www.eddietrunk.com.
