Oleander does "Boys Don't Cry" on February Son, a little better than the 80s original, but both are good (if you're in the mood, not an all the time song).
Also, Creed did a song "18 and I like it" (title?), which is on the soundtrack for The Faculty, that's a pretty good version of that song.
Then there's Cartman's version of "Come Sail Away" which is just priceless! Plus most of the Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics Album.

Best: Garbage "Push It" some sampling from the Beach Boys

Worst: ANYTHING by Puff Daddy.

Absolute worst: Down in Cancun I heard a dance beat made out of the Price is right music (the one they play whenever the announcer describes a product). I couldn't fucking believe someone would take that into a song. Didnt get the name of it.

Thanks to Brokenjaw for the sigpic

Ferret, what are you saying about "Push it"? It's a great song (intro to NHL 2000, oh yeah), but I didn't know about any Beach Boys connection... what's that all about?

The best cover tune ever is Pantera-Planet Caravan. First done by Black Sabbath.

Most covers are just horrible. Anyone who can't do a cover better than the origanol (sp?) shouldn't even bother.

Anyone else getting tired of bands trying to cover Walk from Pantera. I've seen like 3 or 4 bands do it in concert and they never pull it off. They're kinda played out, but Manson always does cool covers, esp. the unreleased ones. I also think NIN dead souls was a pretty good one.

I agree that nobody can pull it off like Pantera. As for Manson, Tainted Love was pretty cool.
