who let the dogs out seems to be popular, although i hate it with all my heart and soul.
usually in timeouts they play music that will pump up the teams, or just popular music of the time.

Id start with "Shout" by disturbed. They played it like 4000 times at the superbowl so i figure its good enough for you. Also play "Up In Here" by DMX.

I'll think of some more later.

I love the Wnew's Girl, Irish Alkey, Kindredbabe, RapeFantasizer, FTL, ClusterF@#$ and my brother in Rage Ree!

It depends on where you go. A lot of teams have certain songs that they play that you won't necesarily hear at other venues. But these are some pretty universal standards:

We Will Rock You - Queen
Rock N Roll Part 1 - Gary Glitter
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N Roses

Please, do NOT play any gay boy band shit or Ricky Martin the way the god damn loser Devils do! That was one of the saddest sights I've ever witnessed, seeing a professional ice hockey team step onto the ice at the beginning of a period to "Livin la vida loca."
Although I hate the Rangers, I have to admit that I enjoyed "Guerilla Radio" when they played that at the beginning of games two years ago. That song gets the crowd pumped.
I know I'm just listing hockey ones, but they probably work for baseball too. By the way, the Isles have the best music of any area hockey team, just so you know (on the whole - they're may be a crappy song here and there, but it sure beats the crap the Devs play).
Good luck w/ the job Teq!

For some reason a lot of teams also play The Final Countdown, or the intro to it at least.

Froy most teams play that song in the last minute of a game if the home team is winning.

Another good one to try to find is "Sirius" by the Alan Parsons Project. I don't know a whole lot of people who have heard of this band, but I like them, influenced by both my parents (yes papa zig got something right :p ), but this song is played nearly everywhere. It's the intro to the song "Eye in the Sky," but it's really its own separate song. Once you hear it you'll recognize it immediately.

Yup, that's exactly it dude. It's a great pump up intro song. I've even heard your beloved Yanks using it on more than one occasion, so it must be good.

Good idea Teq. Look for the "Did you say, over?" speech (although I'm pretty sure that's what you intended anyway). That's a good one for hopes of a late comeback.

Serious question, Tequila -- Who are the New York Generals?

I made the tape that we came out of the locker room and warmed up to back in high school -- keep in mind this was like 1993. It had "Right Now" by Van Halen -- just the piano-then-add-drums-then-guitar-intro, up until they start the lyrics (pretty cool to walk out of the locker room to); "Iron Man"; "Crazy Train"; shit I forget what else . . . [Bob Uecker in "Major League"] "Awww, I can't find it. The hell with it!" [/Bob Uecker in "Major League"]

Off the top of my head, I would use those two songs by Disturbed -- "Down with the Sickness" and Stone Cold's old theme, whatever the names are -- and "Alive" by Fuel.

Hope that helps, best of luck . . .

"Save my ups, deek."

Teq....I know I've heard it mostly at Devils games, but that doesn't make it a bad song. I don't think I would listen to it in my car but it sounds good in a stadium setting: Republica "Baby I'm Ready to Go".

PS - that song "Sirius"...wasn't that Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat's intro music for a little while? It's gotta be cool.

Sirius was Ricky Steamboats entrance music. I suggest Crush Em by Megadeth and the start of Expendable Youth by Slayer played on a loop.

Tequila, I get Request Magazine for being a member of Sam Goody's frequent shopper club; it had a good article this month about songs played at sporting event, though I can't find it on their website.

ESPN put out a few CD's of 'sports music'...Maybe if you do a search for those on the web, you could pull up a track listing...
