(AP)Some advertisers are seeing red over TV's network show about men in blue, ' ' The shield," with several national companies pulling ads in recent weeks due to the show's violence, language and nudity.

The latest to do so was Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. , owner of the Pizza Hut,KFC and Taco bell restaurant chains, according to published reports on Wednesday.

Conservative TV watchdog group, the Parents Television Council, criticized '' vulgarity on ''The Shield" and praised corporations for pulling their ads.

I guess those corporations cant stand the heat of The Shield,so they have to pull they little ads cause of the show's violence, language and nudity.

I'm gonna be so pissed if The Shield goes off the air anytime soon. It's SO much better than all that politically correct, light-hearted, offensive-to-none shit that The Big Three carry on a nightly basis (Friends, Will and Grace, and whatever family-oriented programming is lined up). As soon as a show with some balls and some grit appears, it loses sponsors because they're afraid they might rub someone the wrong way.

I bet I know what it is. It's probably all this post-9/11 shit about how all cops should be considered angels, when anything with opposable thumbs and a pulse knows that's so goddamned far from the truth. I know for a fact that there are cops and public officials who do the same fucking things Vic Mackey and his crew do on the show. The only thing that stops things like that from going public is that everyone in charge has something to gain by keeping it under the rug, whether it be a financial boost, or a rise in status and power.

As long as the dishonest, uppity-up douchebags run our lives, the masses will be kept ignorant of what really goes down in our towns and cities.

Use all your well-learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste.

A-hole Advertisers….they just don’t understand the fine art of murder and mayhem …….tools!

“The Shield” is produced by the bHowared Stern Production Company. Since I listen to H ….and by some miracle ….missed his promotion (Oh H is talking about this right now and referring to the posted story) of this gem I mostly tuned in out of curiosity. I watched the first 2-3 episodes and have to agree that ……it is entertaining ….to a degree. Michael Chiklis whom some may remember from the “Commish” is the shows main protagonist. In a 180 degree role reversal from his easy going affable “Commish” days he stars as a kick ass, rouge…the end justifies the means…. defective Detective. I’m sure this show will find enough mass appeal to last at least 3 seasons. From the 1st episode I found the show too given to the shortcuts of literary license and IMO represent absolute bullsh!t as far as police tactical teams operations are concerned.

For example... to those that saw the first couple of episodes will recall that Detective Vic shot a police informer that infiltrated his team. Well that is just total BS….what real cops would do …..having the knowledge they have an informer in the ranks…..would be to set up …or otherwise incriminate the informer so as to effectively neuter the snitch. Sounds hard to do…but in reality it’s very easy if one considers and understands the trust those type of men place in one another. Remember knowledge is power…..if you have knowledge on someone…..your credit is good this gives you a little more freedom to do your job. However once you drop a dime on someone you have effectively reached your credit limit…..get it? The whole idea is to gain hegemony over others…..for protection against the phony rule makers that want to run for DA….or whatever.

…..and you don’t gain hegemony by killing a brother officer……this is always a bad move …. Besides being morally wrong…it also attracts unwanted attention. As bad as the newspapers make some cops out to be the facts are otherwise. They are the lone guardians of the last vestige of civilization among us….and for the most part they subscribe to a superior moral code of honor and are driven to do their jobs in protecting us…the public…….

….aside from all these real life inconsistencies…. the show’s roughness does have a certain appeal.
