| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01  | E! Just did their list of the 20 funniest movies ever made, I had some objections. Here's their list and some of my comments on them... What do you think? 20. Meet the Parents (DeNiro made this movie, but Ben Stiller is just annoying) 19. Young Frankenstein (Top 10, Gene Wilder is subtle yet perfect in his role, and Peter Boyle was great as the monster) 18. Pee Wee's Big Adventure (Not top 20, worth a few chuckles, but that's it) 17. Waiting for Guffman 16. Lost in America 15. Happy Gilmore (Not even Sandler's best, top 100 maybe...) 14. The Jerk (Maven was Steve Martin's greatest part) 13. Dumb & Dumber (Hysterical, but Jim Carrey has made funnier, took a few viewings to really enjoy) 12. Bananas 11. Monty Python & The Holy Grail (Hands down, should be #1... you find new things to laugh at every time you see it) 10. The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad (Pre-murder OJ alone makes this a classic. Should never have made 2 sequels!) 9. This is Spinal Tap 8. National Lampoon's Animal House (#2... so many classic lines... John Belushi at his best) 7. Beverly Hills Cop (Funny, but not top 20 material) 6. Caddyshack (Top 5, the best movie Chevy Chase ever did, but every cast member has their moments) 5. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (Top 20, but probably not top 5 unless you're a huge Bond fan) 4. Blazing Saddles (Mel Brook's greatest cinematic achievement!) 3. There's Something About Mary (Hysterical in its sickness, but should be lower) 2. National Lampoon's Vacation (Top 20, but definitely not #2) 1. Airplane (Top 5 material, Leslie Nielson's delivery is classic) Missing... Spaceballs, The Blues Brothers, Ace Ventura, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Dr. Strangelove  I believe in the Faith... that can save me. I believe in the hope and I pray... That someday it may raise me... above these badlands Over The Limit | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | I am immediately challening the placement of Meet the Parents, Beverly HIlls Cop, Powers, Pee Wee, and Mary. Stripes shouldn't be on the list because of the second half. Gilmore, though Madison was funnier, I have to agree that these are som of the funniest fucking movies I've ever seen. However, here's one of my favorite comedies that are hardly placed on any lists but should be- A FISH CALLED WANDA. Also missing- The Producers. Holy Grail definitely should be on it but I think the other Python films each were superior to half the films on the list in their own right, watch Life of Brian after reading the New Testament and you'll appreciate it more than you ever thought you would. That's a FuBARed list. and their should be more Mel Brooks movies in the list as well. If there were no rewards to reap, No loving embrace to see me through This tedious path I've chosen here, I certainly would've walked away by now. Gonna wait it out.. Everyone's mentioned correctly the Smith films. Wayne's World is funnier than Powers. And what about some of the Coen films like The Big Lebowski.
