Ozzfest's official website has revealed more details about this year's tour headed up by Black Sabbath and Disturbed.

The two-month jaunt kicks off on June 8 in Chicago and wraps up on Aug. 12 in Holmdel, NJ. The main stage lineup includes Black Sabbath, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Papa Roach, Linkin Park and Crazytown. Disturbed headlines the second stage; the following bands will perform on either the second or third stage: Mudvayne, Cold, Taproot, Union Underground, Nonpoint, Black Label Society, American Head Charge, Pure Rubbish, Hatebreed, Drowning Pool, Systematic, Beautiful Creatures, Boy Hits Car, Godhead and Otep. One more act will be named to one of the subsidiary stages.

The first batch of tickets, for shows in Somerset, Wisc., and Cleveland go on sale this Friday (3/16).

According to Ozzfest's website, a handful of venues are removing 500 seats to allow for a "Purgatory Pit" in front of the stage in which fans can mosh. Pit tickets go on sale via the website on the day before the pavilion, lawn and leftover pit tickets are available to the public. An exclusive T-shirt for Pit Pass holders will be included and sent with the tickets.

This year's tour makes one European stop--May 26 at the 50,000-capacity Milton Keynes Bowl in the U.K. Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Tool and Papa Roach are confirmed for that show, and tickets are on sale through Buyupfront.com.

Slated for release March 27, "Ozzfest: Second Stage Live" gathers 10 tracks from the likes of Kittie, Taproot, Ozzy Osbourne ("I Don't Know") and Soulfly. A bonus re-issue of the original Ozzfest live album--featuring Coal Chamber, Powerman 5000, Osbourne and Slayer--is packaged with it.

[Note: The following tour itinerary has been provided by artist and/or tour sources, who verify its accuracy as of 14-Mar-2001. Changes may occur before tickets go on sale. Check with official artist web sites, ticketing sources and venues for late updates.]

The seats are $50 to $80, that's a bit to rich for my blood. Anyone else pissed off at the way concert prices have skyrocketed the past couple of years?

I see stupid people...They're everywhere...They don't know they're stupid...

I don't know guys, this is the first year since the first one around here at Giant's Stadium that I'm not going to go :( the bands just don't excite me this year (last year I paid $150 for kick-ass seats, so I am a huge Ozzfest supporter normally)

I'm saving all my $$$ for Pantera-fest (or whatever it's going to be called)...that's a REAL heavy metal show (bonus: no Crazy Town or Linkin Park!-still pondering how they bumped Disturbed to the 2nd stage)

For all you going, check out Black Label Society on the 2nd stage

How the hell is Disturbed on the second stage and Crazytown on the main stage...that is such stupidity! Plus what's up with the ticket prices??? I need to pay for college...and one ticket costs the same as a text book!

This ozzfest looks like the most generic
line-up of crap I've ever seen! At least the
earlier ozzfest had some variety.

One thing I have to say, is that I hate the PNC Bank Center... that place is the worst fuckin' place to have this kind of concert... who needs seats?... all I need is a mosh pit damnit.. I refuse to go to anymore concerts at PNC

PNC... WORST THAN UPS!

SO SSSHHHHHHH!!!

The one good thing about the PNC is at least they serve beer. Jones Beach doesn't let you drink at all...and gives tickets in the parking lot. I saw the DFP at the PNC last year and the cops were pretty cool.

As for Ozzfest I don't know if I should get tickets...I love Manson and Disturbed, but that's about it...but I really LOVE Manson...is it worth going? How long are the sets usually?
