Major League. IMO, the greatest baseball movie ever made. Come on, who didn't get psyched when Charlie Sheen came out from the bullpen to Wild Thing at the end of the movie? Classic.

Either "Field of Dreams" or "Eight Men Out". Both movies are ones who's quality will be talked about long after they were made. That's the definition of a classic

I got a couple of favorite baseball movies. In no particular order they are: Major League, Field of Dreams, and Bull Durham.

2002 Crack Committee Objectives:
1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year
2. Hate the Braves with a passion
3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
4. Mets win World Series
5. Roger Clemens finally steps into the batters box at Shea.

Bull Durham, definitely. I think it'll be remembered and watched just as long as Field of Dreams.

[Sarcasm]Major League 3 - Back In The Minors (or whatever the hell it was called) [/Sarcasm]

Seriously, I'd go with Bull Durham and Major League. Field Of Dreams was good too, but a bit too dramatic for me - I gotta be in the mood for those kind of movies.

I also thought 61* was a pretty good movie - again, heavy drama, but it was worth a watch.

I still haven't seen Bull Durham and Field of Dreams, so I'll have to go with Major League. And, though it wasn't a baseball movie, the baseball scene in Naked Gun was classic as well.

Honorable mentions to 'The Scout' and 'Rookie of the Year', as the most realistic baseball movies.

Five words: "There's no crying in baseball!"

Seriously, though, I think Field of Dreams is the best sports movie ever made that didn't star Sylvester Stallone. Eight Men Out would be my #2, then Bull Durham, and The Natural. Major League is great too.

And some more awful baseball movies: The Babe, For the Love of the Game, um...I think the rest have been covered.

dude..you're obviously not a very big baseball fan.
A 10-year old breaks his arm. When it heals it's revealed that he has a super bionic arm and can throw 100mph. Naturally, he is instantly signed by the Cubs to pitch in the major leagues.

But I think The Scout was the more realistic of the two.. Brendan Fraser strikes out all 27 hitters, throwing 81 total pitches.

yes i know this thread is a few days old, but i just saw it so i will contribute my 2 cents. I never saw Bull Durham or Field of Dreams, so i will omit them from my list.

1. Major League 1
2. Mr. Baseball
3. Sandlot
4. League of Their Own
t5. The Rookie
t5. The Scout

Favorite one has to be Major League 1 because it had a great mix of drama, suspense, and comedy. Mr. Baseball is a close 2nd, that was a funny movie. The others were good too.

Of course there have been crap baseball movies, but what can you do?

2002 Crack Committee Objectives:
1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year
2. Hate the Braves with a passion
3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
4. Mets win World Series
(optional) 5. Have Red Sox finish 10 games in front of the Yankees (optional)

The Fan. Bobby D stalking Wesley Snipes. Don't get much better then that!

Bad news Bear's is a classic too. They should have had a gangbang at the end. With Ryan whatever the fuck her name is servicing the whole team. Nice!

AIM: SmarterChild

Write To Me Here

I think it all started with the Declaration of Independence -- the idea that we had the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?
