Springsteen confirms that he plans to stay on the E Street path for the near future in a new interview with Reuters. "I guess the nicest thing about it was we were able to reconstitute the band as on ongoing sort of creative unit," Springsteen says. "I think the central thing for me right now is I'd really like to make a record with the band, because they bring out...it's a different thought process when I think about writing for that group of musicians. I expand my scope, maybe, in some fashion. It's something about what the band is after all these years that makes me think a little bit different. I'm excited about doing that again."

Springsteen confirmed to Reuters that the E Street Band recently did a weekend recording session in the studio and plan to do more soon. He also said the HBO special is likely to be turned into a home video and DVD, with additional tracks not aired on the cable network.

I don't know how to say this without upsetting alot of you Springsteen fans, yes even the board owner, but here goes.

IT'S OVER JOHNNIE

I think Bruce needs the E-Street Band more than the bands needs him. I heard the new live version of 10th Ave. Freezeout on the Q over the weekend and his voice sounded so horse. Sure it was an encore and he was probably playing for the 3rd hour but I think it's over for the BOSS. If he doesn't watch it he'll never make it to the senior tour at Las Vages or Atlantic City. At the end of the song he was introducing the band and he almost sounded like the Rev. Al Sharpton. OUCH. Sorry but it sounded bad.

Let me ask you this? How many times did you see him on his last tour? I saw him 8 times last tour, and have about 10 bootlegs on CD and countless MP3's, and if you think he's done, you are gravely mistaken. His voice has been hoarse since he put out Greetings From Asbury Park almost 30 years ago, and it's not nearly as bad as you would play it up to be. He's got more energy on stage still at 50 yrs old than any other live act I've ever seen. His writing continues to improve and the music only gets better.

Even though I'm not a huge Springsteen fan, I gotta agree with Froy. I saw him at MSG last summer for the first time, and I can honestly say that it was the best concert I've ever been to, from tiny clubs, to huge stadiums. He'll definitely be around for a while longer!

[Rant]Froy is completely correct. I have heard bootlegs from 1973 and 74 when he first came out. His voice is always horse because he does 2 and a half to three hour shows.HEY OYSTER, do you know why he sounds like Al Sharpton, because he is preaching. He is preaching that the E-Street band is the best thing around. The heart-stopping,... Legendary. E-Street Band. Not to mention Land of Hopes and Dreams, damn that song rocks. I, along with Froy have all those bootlegs, and all those MP3s, and to tell you the truth IT AIN'T CLOSE TO BEING OVER JOHNNY! Springsteen is the only artist I know who improves his music as the years go by. (OK, maybe Clapton, Young, and Joel do the same thing). Plus he is humble, on Tuesday he heard that people were waiting for his new CD near his house and 12:00 AM, he went out to sign autographs for them. In conclusion, Bruce is not done, he is just beginning.

Plus read my signature, this is the words to Thunder Road, before it was Thunder Road. Bruce changed the words and made the song better than it was. How can you improve this line.[/Rant]

I was almost afraid to come back. I was sure I was gonna get flamed for saying something like that. Maybe I'm not far off after all.

I'm also a huge Bruce fan.. since 1979 when I saw him for the first time at Nassau Collesium..front row.. great, great show.
He's a great song writer & story teller. And yes, his voice has always had that raspy sound. He's awesome and at 50 can still put on a great show!

Actually someone was telling me this morning that they couldn't even get the new live CD because it was sold out.
