My brother introduced me to The Doors. I was 12 when I first heard of them(that I remember).

There aren't many bands that has passed its message from generation to genaration like The Doors. Many people say that they didn't like The Doors the first time they listened to them, well, I didn't. but I have always loved them from the second time on that's for sure.

Twentieth Century Fox

Well, she's fashionably lean, And she's fashionably late
She'll never wreck a scene, She'll never break a date
But she's no drag, Just watch the way she walks
She's a twentieth century fox, She's a twentieth century fox
No tears, no fears, No ruined years, no clocks
She's a twentieth century fox, oh yeah
She's the queen of cool, And she's the lady who waits
Sent to manless school, It never hesitates
She won't waste time, On elementary talk
'Cause she's a twentieth century fox, She's a twentieth century fox
Got the world locked up, Inside a plastic box
She's a twentieth century fox, oh yeah
Twentieth century fox, oh yeah
Twentieth century fox
She's a twentieth century fox

The Crystal Ship

Before you slip into unconsciousness
I'd like to have another kiss,
Another flashing chance at bliss,
Another kiss, another kiss
The days are bright and filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain,
The time you ran was too insane,
We'll meet again, we'll meet again
Oh' tell me where your freedom lies,
The streets are fields that never die,
Deliver me from reasons why
You'd rather cry, I'd rather fly
The crystal ship is being filled,
A thousand girls, a thousand thrills,
A million ways to spend your time;
When we get back, I'll drop a line

My dad got me into the Doors...and various other great 60s and 70s music...when I was very, very young. When most kids were listening to Disney tapes, I was listening to The Doors, the Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, the Byrds, Bob Dylan, Cream, and others.

Light My Fire

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire X2
Try to set the night on fire
The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire X2
Try to set the night on fire, yeah
The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire X2
Try to set the night on fire, yeah
You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire X2
Try to set the night on fire X4

A friend with weed is a friend indeed. A friend without it is a friend in need.

A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."

Back Door Man

Wha, yeah!
C'mon, yeah
Yeah, c'mon, yeah
Yeah, c'mon
Oh, yeah, ma

The men don't know
But the little girl understand

Hey, all you people that tryin' to sleep
I'm out to make it with my midnight dream, yeah
'Cause I'm a back door man
The men don't know
But the little girls understand
All right, yeah

You men eat your dinner
Eat your pork and beans
I eat more chicken
Than any man ever seen, yeah, yeah

I'm a back door man, wha
The men don't know
But the little girl understand

Well, I'm a back door man
I'm a back door man
Whoa, baby, I'm a back door man
The men don't know
But the little girls understand

You're Lost Little Girl

You're lost little girl
You're lost little girl
You're lost
Tell me who
Are you?
I think that you know what to do
Impossible? Yes, but it's true
I think that you know what to do, yeah
I'm sure that you know what to do
You're lost little girl
You're lost little girl
You're lost
Tell me who
Are you?
I think that you know what to do
Impossible? Yes, but it's true
I think that you know what to do, girl
I'm sure that you know what to do
You're lost little girl
You're lost little girl
You're lost

I was introduced to the Doors when I was 15, and have been my all time favorite band ever since. I have about 1000 dollars worth of Doors Box Sets, bootlegs, books , cd's, and poetry..

LOVE STREET

She lives on Love Street
Lingers long on Love Street
She has a house and garden
I would like to see what happens

She has robes and she has monkeys
Lazy diamond studded flunkies
She has wisdom and knows what to do
She has me and she has you

She has wisdom and knows what to do
She has me and she has you

I see you live on Love Street
There's this store where the creatures meet
I wonder what they do in there
Summer Sunday and a year
I guess I like it fine, so far

She lives on Love Street
Lingers long on Love Street
She has a house and garden
I would like to see what happens

La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la

you knew this one was coming... first Doors song i remember hearing.

Peace Frog

There's blood in the streets,
It's up to my ankles.
(She came.)
There's blood on the streets,
It's up to my knee.
(She came.)
Blood on the streets
In the town of Chicago.
(She came.)
Blood on the rise,
It's following me.

Just about the break of day.
She came and then she drove away.
Sunlight in her hair.

(She came.)
Blood in the streets
Runs a river of sadness
(She came.)
Blood in the streets
It's up to my thigh
(She came.)
Yeah, the river runs red down
The legs of the city
(She came.)
The women are crying
Red rivers of weeping

She came into town and then she drove away.
Sunlight in her hair.

Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding.
Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile egg-shell mind

Blood in the streets
In the town of New Haven.
Blood stains the roofs
And the palm trees of Venice.
Blood in my love
In the terrible summer.
Bloody red sun of
Phantastic L.A.

Blood screams her brain
As they chop off her fingers.
Blood will be born
In the birth of a nation.
Blood is the rose of
Mysterious union.

There's blood in the streets,
It's up to my ankles.
Blood in the streets,
It's up to my knee.
Blood in the streets
In the town of Chicago.
Blood on the rise,
It's following me.

Yeah, back at the Roadhouse they got some bungalows
Yeah, back at the Roadhouse they got some bungalows
And that's for the people
Who like to go down slow

Let it roll, baby, roll
Let it roll, baby, roll
Let it roll, baby, roll
Let it roll, all night long

Do it, honey, do it

You gotta roll, roll, roll
You gotta thrill my soul, all right
Roll, roll, roll, roll
Thrill my soul
You gotta beep a gunk a chucha
Honk konk konk
You gotta each you puna
Each ya bop a luba
Each yall bump a kechonk
Ease sum konk
Ya, ride

Ashen lady, Ashen lady
Give up your vows, give up your vows
Save our city, save our city
Right now

Well, I woke up this morning, I got myself a beer
Well, I woke up this morning, and I got myself a beer
The future's uncertain, and the end is always near

Let it roll, baby, roll
Let it roll, baby, roll
Let it roll, baby, roll
Let it roll, all night long

One of my favorites cover songs done by The Doors...

Dead Cats, Dead Rats

Dead cats, dead rats.
Did you see what they were at, all right.

Dead cat in a top hat, wooh!
Sucking on the young man's blood.
Wishing he could come, yeah.
Sucking on the soldier's brain.
Wishing it would be the same.

Dead cat, dead rat.
Did you see what they were at.
Fat cat in a top hat.
Thinks he's an aristocrat.
Thinks he can kill and slaughter.
Thinks he can shoot my daughter.

Yeah, right.
Oh yeah.
Oh right.
Yeah...

Dead cats, dead rats.
Think you're an aristocrat.
Crap, that's crap.

the follow up...

Break On Through (To The Other Side)

You know the day destroys the night,
Night divides the day.
Try to run,
Try to hide.
Break on through
To the other side.
Break on through
To the other side.
Break on through
To the other side, yeah.

We chased our pleasures here,
Dug our treasures there.
Can't you still recall,
The time we cried?
Break on through
To the other side.
Break on through
To the other side.

Yeah.
Come on! Yeah.

Everybody loves my baby.
Everybody loves my baby.
She get (high),
She get (high),
She get (high),
She get (higher).

I found an island in your arms,
Country in your eyes.
Arms that chained us,
Eyes that lie.
Break on through
To the other side.
Break on through
To the other side.
Break on through, oh.
Oh, yeah!

Made the scene,
Week to week.
Day to day,
Hour to hour.
Gate is straight,
Deep and wide.
Break on through
To the other side.
Break on through
To the other side.

Break on through,
break on through,
Break on through,
break on through.
Huh, huh, huh,
Huh, huh, huh,
Huh, huh, huh.

another great cover song...

Who Do You Love

Yeah...
Yeah...
Yeah...
Yeah...

I walked 47 miles on barbed-wire,
Cobra-snake for a necktie.
Brand new house by the roadside,
Made from rattlesnake hide.

Brand new chimney made on top,
Made out of human scum.
Come on baby take a walk with me,
Tell me who do you love.

Who do you love, now.
Who do you love, now.
Who do you love, babe.
I said who now,
Who do you love.

Tombstone head and graveyard mind,
Just 22 and I don't mind dying.
Rode around the town used a rattlesnake whip,
Come on baby don't give me no lip.

Who do you love, now.
Who do you love.
Who do you love, child.
I said who baby,
Who do you love.

The night was dark.
The sky was blue.
Down the alley
The ice wagon flew.
Hit a bump.
Somebody screamed.
You should have heard just what I seen.

Do you love him, baby.
Do you love, oh yeah.
Do you love me, baby.
Do you love it, yeah.
Yeah...

Well who, baby, who do you love?
What do you love, now, baby.
Love, love, love me baby.
Love, love, love me darling.

SO SSSHHHHHHH!!!
