Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Okay... That little banner has been annoying the piss out of me for months... But I found really simple instructions to edit the code and get rid of it.... I thought I would share: Visit this Website (btw... I apologize if this was already common knowledge... it was news to me)

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Hmm, that's pretty cool. Only not-quite-so-cool thing about it is that it's just a blank space where the ad should be. You don't get that space reclaimed for more list room.

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | yeah, I thought the same thing FTL... but at least the blinking ads are gone. You can also edit the "Playing a Game" away message by editing the registry...but I haven't bothered. **EDIT** Here's how to edit the reg in case anyone's interested in trying it... Getting rid of the Playing Game away message 1. Click [Start Menu] 2. Click [RUN...] 3. Type in "regedit" (Without the quotation marks) 4. When in the regedit (Registry Editor) program go here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\America Online\AOL Instant Messenger(TM)\CurrentVersion\Users\**your SN**\IAmGoneList 5. Right-Click it (The lil' piece of scrap paper) 6. Select [Modify] from the menu 7. Change the stuff between the Playing A Game to get rid of that title then put something else in at the end for the message. It updates automatically. Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Why would you go through the trouble of going into the Registry to modify an Away message when you can edit it on your own through the AIM preferences? |
