I wonder if anyone has had this problem and maybe has an answer:

I have a copy of Photoshop 6.0 (with the 6.0.1 update) that I recieved from a friend. The program installed without a hitch on my laptop, but when I installed in on my home PC I keep getting the message "One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found."

The program just will not open. I've gone so far as to uninstall all the adobe products on my system (I had a trial version of photoshop installed from a long time ago and acrobat reader 4) and then reinstalling the new Photoshop disk and Acrobat 5, but with the same results...

Any thoughts?

I've NEVER had that happen before. And, I've installed 6.0 on many many computers many many times.

Are you using an original "Adobe" disk to install from? Or, a copy. A copy that you might have "moved" rather than "copied" files from during install on laptop?

I am using a copy Barch, and although thats possible, I know I used the Photoshop Set-up Launcher on the laptop as well as the PC, so files shouldn't have moved... but I will compare the program files anyway...

If you have any other ideas let me know... and thanks alot...

**EDIT** GOT IT! Thanks for the idea Barch... in checking the program files against the working version on the laptop i found a DLL file that was named wrong somehow... corrected it and the program works fine. Thanks again!
