O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	Anyone know how to delete or disable the win2k Pro games? Solitare, Minesweeper etc... I've tried everything I know and they won't delete. Windows doesn't even have an option in the add/remove windows components window. I've tried deleting the exe files right out of the system folder but they just re-appear after being deleted. Psychopath Registered: Jan. 02	Go into add/remove programs. Find either a tab that says "Windows Components" or a button that says Add/Remove windows components and click on it. Once it comes up look at the details of Accesories. Games should be in there and all you have to do is uncheck the box next to it. Â All Post's Imply That Actual Thought Went Into Them. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01	av8er, here is some advice you can actually use... Microsoft decided that in Win2k, they don't want you uninstalling certain Windows components. Therefore, these components are hidden in the "Add/Remove Windows Components" window. To unhide them, open the SYSOC.INF file in your c:\windows\inf folder. (It may be c:\winnt\inf depending on your installation.) It will open in Notepad. In that file, delete the word "HIDE" anywhere you see it. You can simplify this with a "Find and replace" command in Notepad. Save the file and open the "Add/Remove Windows Components" window again. You should now see all the components that were hidden before. I love you all. I love you more than life itself... But you're all fucking mad.

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 02	Actually I am running Win2k on my laptop, 2k server on one PC and XP Pro on two others. I helped Av8er on IM to disable access to them through GPedit. I have never run into them not being on the add/remove windows components list before though. I posted the instructions that would help all users of the Windows operating system. And before you ask... yes I am Network + certified and am in progress on my MCSE. Â All Post's Imply That Actual Thought Went Into Them. Take That With A Grain Of Salt.
