I agree with Beukeboom, and Satan, but I always liked the name Straka... I don't know why, maybe because it sounds violent.

Go Rangers! (yeahrightsurewithconcussionadayLindros?!?!HA!)

Fixed the spelling for Francine. :)

How about we give the old number 23 some respect, and spell his name correctly.

BEUKEBOOM

Some of my favorite names include
Owen Nolan
Radek Dvorak
Jean-Yves Roy

and my all time Favorite.

Stanislav Neckar. Pronounced Nez Kash.

I agree that Beukeboom is probably the toughest hockey name ever...but for pure stupidity and enjoyment, you can't go wrong with:
Per Djoos
Yves Racine
Saku Koivu (one of my favorite present underated players...who I just read has cancer & will be missing the season- at least)

For some reason, Jaromir Jagr to me is a great hockey name, as well as Tie Domi.

Cant go wrong with Wayne Gretzky though.

Scrappleking, Jagr got read of that god-awful mullet two seasons ago, thankfully.

Best hockey names? Damn, there are so many. That is one of the great things about hockey, the names are just whacked because of the number of international players in the game.

There was the time when we had the "chucks":

Clint Malarchuk
Dale Hawerchuck
Dave Andreychuck

The Finns always have cool names in general:

Janne Ojanen (Sounds like an Irish new age artist)
Jyrki Lumme
Janne Niinima
Saku Koivu
Mikko Makela
Petri Skriko
Jari Kurri
Christian Ruutuu (growing up in Canada, we were always felt compelled to exlaim "Christian Ruutuu!" after any math teacher made a reference to "root two" during class)

There were guys with seemingly three names:

Frank Pieterangelo
Lou Franceschetti
Peter Taglianetti

And then of course the band of brothers:

Rich Sutter
Ron Sutter
Daryll Sutter
Duane Sutter
Brent Sutter

And then the Czechs who would have made a lot of money on Wheel of Fortune for their absolute refusal to "buy a vowel":

Petr Svoboda
Jaromir Jagr
Jan Hlavac
Jan Hrdina
Jiri Slegr

The whacked out names just never seem to stop. Even the North American players that aren't from "wacky Europe" or anyting still seem to have wacky names:

Paul Kariya
Joe Sakic
Theoren Fleury

Ahhh, what a great game, first exhibition game is only 9 days and counting!

Wow, 3 names and Beukeboom is the only one you can spell right.

And the other guy misspells Kasparaitis and says Go Pittsburgh. Yeah you must be a big fan.

what would have been great is if there was some way we could get satan to play basketball. that way he could play against God Shamgod. the play by play would be awesome: "Satan drives the hoop, God goes up for the block...." etc....
(by the way, i do know the proper way to say satan's name, so dont bother)

Arpi Karhu Kauppias forever!!!
