Grbac is headed to Baltimore

ESPN.com news services

BALTIMORE – Free-agent quarterback Elvis Grbac agreed with the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens on a five-year, $30 million deal Tuesday.

The contract includes an $11 million signing bonus.

ESPN.com's John Clayton reported that Grbac and his agent, Jim Steiner, negotiated over the weekend with Baltimore and left without a contract. But the two sides continued to talk and finally hammered out the final details Tuesday.

Steiner was pleased with Grbac's visit to Baltimore.

"I think Elvis had a good visit," Steiner said. "Obviously, they're world champions, and that is a heavy, heavy, heavy consideration."

Grbac was released last Thursday by the Kansas City Chiefs after he told the team he did not wish to return. He threw for career highs of 4,169 yards and 28 touchdowns last season for the 7-9 Chiefs.

Hey he's not breathing. Don't people usually breathe?

thats a great move for the ravens. it gives them a proven starter who can effectively run an offense. the ravens already have the best defense in the league, but their offense needs improvement. if travis taylor comes back healthy, grbac has some good targets in him, ismail, and sharpe. jamal lewis is amazing, so i think the ravens will be pretty tough to beat next year.

oh yeah, fuck the ravens.;)

They would of been better off if they landed Brad Johnson, but its an improvement from Dilfer, and they won the Superbowl with Dilfer.

Grbac is a guy that will go and play solid minutes. He won't be pro bowl material and he won't be like dilfer.
