Too early to predict that deeply. I'll save my predictions when they really count, playoff time.

My one prediction: the Rangers will finish ahead of the Islanders.

your prediction seems pretty much on the mark to me.

I think though Rangers & Isles will finish within 2 pts of each other (Rangers on top)
and Florida a little better (I think Luongo steps up).

I really hope Isles & Rangers can both step up.
I remember '79 season, and there was nothing better than hanging out in a bar and watching Isles vs Rangers that year in playoffs.

Only thing to top that was last world series, although the wrong team won. :)

If Lindros stays Healthy (concussion free) all year, Rangers might be as high as a 6th seed. If not, last in the division. I also think the Islanders will do better than Pittsburgh and have an outside chance of a playoff spot.

Thank god the Atlantic division is good again like in the old days.

I like St.Louis to win it all this year. If not the Av's and obviousley Detroit with Hasek will be making a stand. I don't give the winner of the Eastrern conference much chance in the the Cup Finals. But Pitt and the Caps I could see in the finals....and maybe, just maybe the Rangers will make the playoffs. Please keep the jokes to a minimum.

I think Detroit vs Avs in the western conference finals with Detroit taking it in 7. Flyers vs the Caps in the Eastern finals with Detroit and Caps taking it. Than Detroit will beat the Caps in 6 for the Stanley Cup.

On a side note, Thank you for giving me 2 top, all star, hall of fame goaltenders in the hockey fantasy league in Hasek and Roy.

Don't worry, I'll keep the jokes as small as the Rangers chances :)

The west has taken ovr the power it seems...I think it's gonna stay that way for some time. St.Louis or Colorado again....I say the Devil's dominance will diminish this year, they just aren't as young and mobile as they have been the past 7 years...Stevens is on his way out.
Hey, at least the Islander fans may get to see playoffs this season for the first time in years!!

Well Slack and I will be having a fun year!! Roenick in O&B and Lindwuss in R/W&B...it just don't get any better :)

Banger my friend, I do believe that this year we will get over that hump and put an end to the dreadful curse that the Devils have had over the Flyers for ten stinking years now. With Roenick in the line up for Philly, you will be looking at wht will be for all intent, two first lines. With the goaltending problem apparently behind them, I think the Flyers finally have the right combination of talents to take the Eastern Conference, and I make them a serious contender to go all the way. After the bitter ending to last season, I need to see the Bullies come together and go deep.

Washington will be dangerous, and of course the Devils are still an excellent team. My only problem with Jersey is that they didn't seem to make any moves to actually improve this year. They are more or less the same team that skated last year, and as the old addage goes, if you aren't moving up, you are moving out.

The West? Well, you can never really tell what kind of year it will be for the Western Conference. It seems every year that one team looks unstoppable throughout the regular season, only to fall apart in the playoffs. At this juncture, I will still have to give the nod to whomever comes out of the West to be the faveorite for the cup.

Currently newbieless...unbelieveable!

Colorado is already showing they are the team to
beat again this year. Nice game vs the Pens. Their
rookie Nedorost scored his first, Sakic had one as
did Drury. They're looking good :)

I think the Flyers are certainly loaded with more talent than the Devils, but if the two were to meet in the Playoffs, Id probably have to lean towards the Devils for their experience and history against the Flyers in the Playoffs.

Plus it all comes down to Goaltending in the Playoffs, and Id much rather go with Martin Brodeur than Roman Cechmanek.

But thats not to say that the Flyers couldnt beat the Devils in the Playoffs, or make it to the Finals.

Its similar to the Yankees-A's in Basbeall. The A's probably have a better team than the Yankees, but in a Playoff series, you would probably have to put your money on the Yankees.

I think that the Ilanders will do better than last, but It's tough to tell in that division. Which to me is the toughest in the East, baring any injuries.

That and I think that the Flyers will have what it takes to win it all this year.

Theres no question that the Atlantic Division is the best division in Hockey. Each team has a chance to do something this year, unlike any other division.

The Worst Team in the Division might be the Pittsbugh Penguins. You saw it tonight, its not the same there without #68. Lemieux isnt going to be the same player without having Jagr by his side. Throw in the fact that Lemiuex is going to miss his share of games, and Johan Hedberg is not a proven commodity for the marathon season. They have a good chance to be the League's Dissapointment.

Not gonna go as in-depth as FB, but here goes:

Eastern Conf. Finals - Devils over Senators
Western Conf. Finals - Colorado over St. Louis

Stanley Cup Winner - Devils

I also think Philly has a great roster, and will probably get at least 90 points, but they will go out in the first round.

Southeast Division
1. Washington Capitals 96 -
2. Florida Panthers 82 14
3. Carolina Hurricanes 73 23
4. Atlanta Thrashers 70 26
5. Tampa Bay Lightning 63 33

I like what im seeing here. I hope the Capitals go all the way. But I must add that after being a capitals fan for 20 years now, They seem to always choke in the big game. With the signing of jagr I hope they finally got the last piece to the puzzle.
