I had posed a question in Grumpy's Questions thread asking why the game was on Channel 9.. Then after giving it some thought, I came up with this solution, and I offer it to you all:

Channels 5 and 9 are both owned by News Corp. Channel 5 was possibly obligated to keep tonight's Fox programming, being this was an unforesenregular season game (postponed from the week of 9/11) so the Yankee game easily went to sister Channel 9, I mean, they're just UPN, they're ratings are far from stellar, right?

It's sad that such firsts - the Yankees on Channel 9, a Super Bowl in February - are brought on because of 9.11. If it were up to me, I wouldn't want to accept these firsts.

(Note: The Fox 5 crew is working the game as if they were on Channel 5. Not many references as to what station it is.)

I think we can manage without all being in depression over the sad turn of events of the Yankees being on 4 channels over, and the Superbowl being played 1 week later.

Joe, you'd rather leave four teams out of the playoffs than have the Super Bowl in Feb.??? In a few years the Super Bowl will regularly be in February anyway... causing much consternation to those who care about "sweeps month". Sweeps is also the reason why the Yankees were on Channel 9.

Hey FB, does the YankeeNetNetworkCorp mean the poor wandering Yanks will have an everyday home next year?

I don't believe you're correct: Only November, February and May are sweeps months. (And sometimes August... yes, August, the official 'Y' of the sweeps vowels.)
