| O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00  | In what was considered no surprise Duke was voted Pre-season #1 for the upcoming college basketball season. They have 6 major contributors returning from last year and 3 major editions joining a team that won last year's title, and if its possible they may be better than last year's team. So is anyone here into college basketball? I enjoy a good mid-season match-up as much as the next guy and the tournament is truly the biggest spectacle in sports. What does everyone else think. oh, and the rest of the top 25 are as follows 1.Duke (30) 2.Illinois (1) 3.Maryland 4.Kentucky 5.Florida 6.UCLA 7.Kansas 8.Iowa 9.Missouri 10. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00 | Well Rutgers does have a hand in Duke being #1. Kinda. One of Duke's New "big players" this year is a transfer from Rutgers. Go figure huh? | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Well considering That Maryland wes the only team to really give duke a run for its money every time we played them, i can't see why we're number 3 and not number 2. oh well. I'm looking forward to this season like you wouldn't believe - I'm gonna get tickets to as many home games as I possibly can. we play duke at home 2/17, there will definately be camping out for that one :) Go Terps! I go to about 5 Seton Hall games a year. too bad that Eddie Griffin was just playing there to earn a lottery pick, and Tommy Amaker walked away on us, but thats besides the point. besides Seton Hall, Duke is my team. Jason Williams is extremely fun to watch. it should be a very entertaining year of college hoops.  | ||||
