| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | Although they probably wont talk about it much because they are both classy professionals who put the game before personal issues, Im sure it will be an emotional game for John Madden and Pat Summerall today, because Summerall is leaving after 21 years with Madden. The two commentators have revolutionized the way games should be called, and I will miss them dearly. Ill never forget them commenting on the game together, hell i grew up listening to them on the Giants games back in the old CBS days of the 80's and early 90's. That was an amazing era in football for me, and both of them made it even better. I always wondered watching a game on Sunday, "Is Madden and Summerall doing the game?" That was a big issue to me back then. I'll miss them, but at the same time, i know that they have to move on. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Honestly, it would be weird at first hearing ANYONE else besides Summerall calling games with Madden. The current play by play staff for FOX is subpar at best, and currently the best duo in NFL games is Simms and Gumbel, on CBS. I think that if they move Mike Patrick to do the games with Madden that it would work out well. Patrick knows his stuff, and makes the Sunday Night games on ESPN enjoyable, even if the games actually suck that week. He could be the perfect fit with Madden. The comedian on O&A who does madden is more understandable as Madden than Madden is. He is an idiot, and Summerall don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. You are boring as hell.  | ||||
