| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | Cluster F: Thanks for the heads up. I chose to hold the draft near opening day so that we have a better idea of who's made each team's roster. I don't enter leagues that draft earlier because there are too many potential cut victims still around on minor-league invites. A case in point is Matt Williams. If we had held our draft already and Williams was picked, then that team would've wasted that pick and be at a disadvantage before the season even starts. I do appreciate the heads up, though. | Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | Thank you for the suggestion, Austin, but Bloody Anus is right. I'm shooting for realism with the league settings. The rosters are set up like real baseball: 11 pitchers (most teams carry 11 these days), 9 starting hitters (OK, there's a DH, so it's only like the AL), and a 5-man starting rotation. Innings pitched and games started were selected as scoring categories to reward teams for pitchers who actually pitch. If a pitcher is injured, there are now 5 DL spots, so he can be replaced by another picther off the free agent or waiver lists. This way, an actively-managed team is rewarded for keeping a roster full of active pitchers with a high innings and games started count. With that in mind, I've made a few changes to the league settings:
20 teams means you have to know more about baseball than just each team's stars. If we don't get to 20 we can always adjust downward, but I would prefer to fill the league if possible. The only caveat is that we must have an even number of teams before we can draft. If anyone has comments about these changes, feel free to post them here. There are now only 5 spots left! JOIN NOW!!
