I saw the Jordan thread and it reminded me of another rumored return. I've heard a few people talk about Steve Young wanting to come back to football after his year of retirement.

He should come back but not for the 49ers they have a good QB he should go to a team that would really need him.

if he came back it would be the biggest mistake. hes had so many concussions already. not to mention his skills have eroded the his last couple of seasons. hed be a middle of the pack QB now whos one hit away from serious injury

Unfortunately, since this injury is NOT a part where you can feel it, like a knee/arm/shoulder with lingering pain. A concussion once you are over the symptoms - headaches/blurry vision/vomiting - you feel fine except you become more susceptible to them. Young/Aikmen/Lindros should just hang it up/stay retired so that they can enjoy themselves later in life. They should look at Muhammed Ali..OK he has Parkinsons...but it may have been brought on by too many blows to the head

That would be a really bad move health wise. Also, remember when a player would retire and never come back? These players should just stay retired, my life wasn't horrible without without Mario Lemeiux(actually it was better),Jordan had his time. Steve Young should just enjoy retirement.

Bingo YellowOne, It pisses me off how seemingly every player these days has to come back after they retire. Reggie White had his fucking number retired and came back, what a fuckin travesty.

As a diehard 49er fan, I can tell you there's no way Young is coming back. One more reason is that he got married soon after he retired. And apparently his wife will not let him play again... :)

I think the rumors were about Young reteaming with Jerry Rice. Who knows where Rice will end up, he can play 3 more years as a clutch 3rd-down receiver but the 49ers are forcing him out... :(
