Now I'm in college most of the year so I don't pay the cable bitt, but my dad's cablevisiob bill has gone up from a little under $65 a month to around $85 a month for the SAME FUCKIN PACKAGE, SAME AMOUNT of Channels. Now do the Yanks need their own network. No, however I would rather the bill go up a whole $2 for an extra channel then go up $20 and not getting anything extra in return. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Here is the deal. Cablevision wants Yes to be a premium channel, where people have to pay extra for it. Yes network wants Yes as part of the basic service. Cablevision's problem is saying that why should every single person out of their 3 million subscribers have to pay the extra $2 a month on their cable bill. Yes thinks they should put into their basic service like every other cable company and directv have. Dolan and Cablevision are assholes. The way they do business, if you want MSG and FSNY you have to get channels you will never watch like I dont know Animal Planet, Telemundo, etc. MSG lost their crown jewel in the Yankees and still the rates do not go down. They tried to fuck with the Mets by splitting the games and charging for both, but I saw from a Mets fans post that that is not the case anymore. I hate Phil Mushnick's guts from the Post, but he wrote a great article last week, about how in CLeveland (owned by Cablevision), the Indians are shown on basic, but he wants the Yankees to be a premium channel. Yes Steinbrenner is greedy, but so what, he puts the money back into the team to make them as good as they can be. What does Dolan and Cablevision do. THEY RUIN THE KNICKS AND RANGERS and make them disgraces in their sports. This is the first year in 20 years that not one of those teams did not make the playoffs. You need Cablevision to keep the Yes netowrk from becoming a monopoly like Cablevision currently is. Cablevision has been outright lying in ads, saying they are the exclusive home of the rangers, knicks, liberty, devils, islanders, mets and nets. They are full of shit. The only games that are shown exclusively on Cablevision is their Metro station . This only occurs when MSG, and FSNY have scheduling conflicts and can only show 2 games at a time. If you can get Directv get it. I am sick of the bullshit of Cablevision. It is the same price and you can get exclusive packages that cable does not offer, like the NFL, Baseball or basketball packages that directv offers. Directv has FSNY, MSG, and Yes and local channels for 2 tv's for $39.99 and $5 additional for each tv you need a new box for. Cablevision destroys everything they touch. They are pissed at that George Steinbrenner took the centerpiece from MSG in the Yankees away from them and they are acting like goddamn babies. Big fuck you for the shambles the knicks and rangers are in. Mushnick also brought up a point, that in 4 years, the Mets might negotiate with the Yes netowrk and Yankees and Mets will be shown on Yes and Cablevision will have shit. I have yet to see a game this year and am suffering from some heavy withdrawal. Meanwhile, yesterday we could watch the friggin the Mets on [Casey Kasem]two, two[/Casey Kasem] stations -- WPIX and TBS. Awful . . . "Save my ups, deek." | ||||
