O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01	LOS ANGELES (TICKER) -- The New Jersey Devils, beset by injuries to several key forwards, acquired veteran center Bob Corkum from the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night for future considerations. Corkum, 33, is a checking specialist who has four goals and six assists in 58 games this season. The Kings assigned him to Lowell on February 21, although he did not appear in any games in the American Hockey League. The 6-2, 225-pound Massachusetts native was a 1986 third-round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres. He also has played for Anaheim, Philadelphia and Phoenix, totaling 91 goals and 97 assists in 627 NHL games. The defending Stanley Cup champions are mired in their worst slump of the season, with just one win in the last nine games (1-4-3-1). They were beaten by Carolina, 3-2, on Friday night without centers Sergei Brylin (knee), Jason Arnott (back) and Scott Gomez (back) and right wing Alexander Mogilny (abdomen). It was the second trade in three days for the Kings. On Wednesday, they dealt former Norris Trophy winner Rob Blake and rookie center Steven Reinprecht to the Colorado Avalanche for right wing Adam Deadmarsh, defenseman Aaron Miller, a 2001 first-round draft pick, a conditional draft pick and a prospect to be named. ~Matt/Froy from Jersey The Hell Hole Official Protector of Gay Marco & SwampJunk...if he ever decides to post. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	I dont think that getting Bob Corkum is going to do anything for the Devils. Hey Devil fans do you think Lamoriello is going to make a move at the deadline like last year when he got Mogilny and Malakhov or do you think he will stay put and try to win it with this bunch?

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	Watch out for Ottawa. Although I dont know if Patrick Lalime is good enough to take them to the Finals. Thats the One KEY Advantage the Devils have in the East is Broduer. Sure Buffalo has Hasek and Toronto has Joseph but those two teams really arent that good. Pittsburgh, Philly, and Ottawa are all really good but dont have the goaltending you need in the Playoffs. The Devils are the only team who has the complete package in the East. But with Blake in Colorado, They are the Favorites to take it home.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	Lou will make a move I think to tighten the defense. The devils really need a mobile 6th defenseman, and have the chips to trade for one. Sean O'donnell is a good possibility from the Wild. They could deal Corkum to the Wild, as Lemaire would like a good veteran checking center who will fit into their system wuite well. Corkum will be what Nemchinov is for the most part, a 3rd/4th/Scratch in the lineup. Rangers Suck!
