I guess that showing last night made "The Boss" blow a gasket. Its official that the Yankees have aquired Ugeth Urbina from Montreal for D'Angelo Jimenez, Brandon Knight, and some A ball homo.
I think thats the best move they could have made at this point. But follow this logic: Urbina makes at least 1.5 million, instead of giving it to him, we could have given it to a certain 6'8 righty setup man with a brown mustache who was on the mound in the late innings for 4 world series championships. In the words of Ant: Stupid Frigging TWATS!!!

Article from ESPN.com:

YANKS DEAL TO GET URBINA ALL BUT DONE

Fresh off the Yankees' bullpen collapse Sunday against the Mets, the Bronx Bombers have all but completed a deal that would bring Expos closer Ugueth Urbina to New York, ESPN's Peter Gammons is reporting.

The Yankees will send minor-league infielder D'Angelo Jimenez and pitcher Brandon Knight to Montreal for the veteran reliever.

Jimenez was kept out of both games of Triple-A Columbus' doubleheader at Syracuse on Sunday, and the Yankees did so with the intent of dealing him, according to a source familiar with the trade talks, Newsday reported.

The Expos had originally wanted Jimenez and pitcher Randy Keisler in return for Urbina. But with the Yankees' injury problems (two-fifths of the starting rotation is on the DL), they can't afford to give up Keisler, who now is essentially their fourth starter.

"Obviously, we need other people to get outs for us in the bullpen," said Yankees manager Joe Torre.

Sunday night, Torre's primary relievers (Mariano Rivera and Mike Stanton) were spent, and could only watch the rest of the bullpen give up six runs to the Mets in the eighth inning of an 8-7 loss.

Urbina, 27, is 0-1 with a 4.55 ERA and nine saves in 31 games this season. Urbina, who recorded 102 saves from 1997 through 1999, is making $4.2 million this season. The prorated portion of that salary would make the Yankees' payroll the highest in baseball, a title George Steinbrenner didn't want but apparently is willing to take, Newsday reported.

Can someone spell Mel Rojas lol. I really hope that Urbina continues his struggle on the Yanks so that the Boss will think twice before spending his money freely.

Cluster, I didn't get the Rojas reference till about 20 mins after I read it. Do I smell a scorned Metropolitan fan? That guy sucked so bad for the mets.

The difference between Rojas and Urbina is this. Urbina is good. Rojas had two good years in his career.

Fucking Urbina failed the physical! the minor leaguer from the Yanks failed the physical too. this reminds me of a few years ago when the Yanks traded for Greg Vaughn. he failed the physical and then went out and hit 50 home runs.

goddamnit.....Urbina would've been a great fit.

i have adopted Nuggetking on 6/19. any other newbies looking to be adopted can E-Mail Me or IM me at Okterrific771.

Rone I hate to follow you up again but your right.....THIS SUX I went to Shea tonight and could not belive my eyes when Urbina came out to the mound....Even though I'm a Mets fan I have Urbina on my Fantasy Team and could have used the holds......But I guess banking on the Vaughn theory I should get some saves
