Philly has the biggest bunch of fair-weather fans of any town. They say they have the 'toughest' fans..basically they boo their own teams. good for you, losers.

just before the baseball season, all philly fans had to say was "fuck the phillies, they could kick them out of the league for all I care. the 76ers are my team." Now they are all over the phillies' collective cocks. THey jump from team to team, to which ever local team is doing well, and ignores the others. tools.

I hate the mets, but i respect their fans, no matter how bad they are they are still there. Most towns are like this - look at cubs fans or browns fans or sawx fans..no matter what they stick by their teams. The yankees were embarassment in the 80's, but I was there wearing my Kevin Maas jersey (ew!).

Philly is so proud of their boo-birds.."hey man we boo santa claus" good for you, you losers.

Also none of them know shit about sports - they will sit you down and explain to you how the eagles are so great or how the 76ers are going to bury the lakers...idiots..
For example: Kindest Regards, Your Name

Well, we had this thread awhile back, and I will pretty much repeat what I said then. Not all Philly fans are the violent, rabble rousing hooligans you have heard they are. Yes, there are many trouble makers in the bunch, but I can tell you countless stories of Philly fans with class.

As for the "fair weather" aspect, you are dead wrong. Do Philly fans boo their own teams at times? Hell yes, but that has much more to do with the constant string of poor owners and management. If you do not follow Philly sports closely, you would not know this. The Phillies more than any other team took the heat at the beginning of the year, not because we don't like the team, but because we HATE the ownership of the club. The Phils honestly have no right to be playing as well as they are. Look at the club..... where are the "stars". This is a team that just happens to be playing above their heads, which is why the fans are getting behind them. Philly loves a hard working underdog kind of player, but we hate owners that refuse to spend the money it takes to be competetive. Philadelphia is the 5th largest market in the country, yet for years the sports owners have spent money as if they were a small market.

Look at the Sixers. They are finally a strong team, full of hard workers with one blazing exception. That exception often gets booed unless he performs extremely well. Yes, Matt Geiger is a member of the Eastern Conference champs, but he gets no love. He has proven himself lazy. He sits out with a "sore knee" while guys are playing with severe ankle sprains and broken bones in their feet. Philly cares much more about the spirit of the player and the club than the record.

The Flyers sell out damn near every game, even when they are having poor seasons, the Eagles sell out 95% of their games, even when Kotite was at the helm. Do not dare preach to me about Philly fans being fair weather. We will pour our hearts out for our teams, we simply expect the players to do the same.

hahaha...[cartman] that is so lame! [/cartman]

Are you kidding slackjaw? Philly is one of those towns that THINK they are good sports fans, but really aren't. Their cheering is based on "what have you done for me in the past 30 seconds" I will admit, the flyers are the exeception - they seem to support them all the time, but thats where the lack of sports knowedge comes in - you have no idea how many philly fans explained how they were going to trade lindros for sakic last year...i was like "the guy eats through a straw! are you kidding?!"

And don't write it off as some sort of blue-collar, ownership-hating thing.. in the 80's yankee fans hated what steinbrenner was doing to the team, and CBS before him, but they still showed up and supported their team.

Jump on Donovan McNabb's cock some more, faggits...the same losers that were booing the draft choice because they wanted ricky williams..

Well, the fans at the time were actually split. Less than 50% of the Philly fans wanted Wlliams in the draft. Everybody expected a QB to get drafted. The booing you refer to had a hell of a lot more to do with the fact that Ditka was offering (and evetually wound up making the deal later) his entire draft to be able to take Williams. The general consensus at the time was that the QB's available were more or less interchangeable. We could have traded with the Saints, moved down a few spots and still drafted a QB. In all likelihood, Donovan would still have been there at the time.

You rip Philly for not "supporting" their teams when they suck, well I call that intelligent investment. If I am going to pay large sums of money to see a team play, I expect a full effort, not just from the players, but the entire franchise. Afterall, if the owners view their teams as a business, why shouldn't I?

If a software company I used to be loyal to starts to put out an inferior product, full of known bugs, and makes no effort to truly ammend the problem, am I supposed to keep buying it simply because they USED to make great games? No, that would make me a moron.

I have very strong loyalties to the teams I adore, but if I don't feel that the company that wants me to give them my money is making an effort to put the best product on the market, I will not give them my money.

If I criticize the President, does that make me a traitor? I think not. If anything, it makes me more concerend for the welfare of my nation.
