but hey - let it be known that he is STILL the fuckin' man.

Once he gets more comfortable with playing the 3, and provided we address a couple of other needs, next year may not be THAT bad...who knows?

(I know, wishful thinking...but hey, I'm a Metropolitan fan, what else am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to predict eternal failure for my beloved team? I think not.)

Here's my prediction for the infield next year. Wiggie at third, Reyes at Short, Scutaro at second. Piazza/Clark at First. Philips/Piazza behind the plate. I think they will at least give Mike the option to catch certain games and Philips is no slouch at first. Somewhere along the way next year, he'll become full time first baseman. I also think that Floyd, when healthy could be a big help at the plate. How about that Timo gunning down Bonds last night?? Could have been a double if he hustled and he got nailed. Priceless, absolutely fuckin priceless.
