I think it's pretty clear that the 1000 (or so) RIAA lawsuits are just a big scare tactic, to get people to quit using P2P programs like Kazaa.

So, is it working on you?

For myself, I'd say no. I just opened Kazaa a few minutes ago, and there were about 3.5 million people online, sharing nearly 750 million files, a total of 5.5 petabytes of info (5.5 million GB).

Of 3.5 million people - and that's just those that are logged on right now - only 1000 subpoenas have been sent out. I guess I'm playing the odds. Smile

Im with ya. I never leave my p2p on and I only have about 200 or so files. I have most of what I want, and lord knows music is so shitty right now that Im not gonna be downloading much new stuff.
I pretty much avoid downloading unreleased material whether it be a movie or album...

otherwise...GAME ON!!!
RIAA doesn't care about porn, right?

Great move guys: shut down napster so now all of the pre-teen boys have the option to download the next Jenna Jameson movie instead of the next Eminem....
could i replace ftl as a super admin when ftl goes bye-bye?
Not scared at all.

Music group won't sue small downloaders

I don't have much in my shared folder anyway...I usually end up deleting shit I don't like, and if I kinda like it, I'll burn it, and if I really like it, I'll buy it.
I switched my options to "Not Sharing Files". When people realize im leeching and cancel my DL's i switch the sharing back on til the song is done and then put it right back to the way it was.
I dont use Kazza. Private FTPs and Newsgroups all the way.
Hell no, I'm not scared. I am scared b/c I just had another virus in my computer....
I don't even use Kazaa....

EMule baby!
Im a little worried. Even though I never really had over 150 songs even before this whole gayness, I don't want anything to happen because of my poorness. So I really don't download songs unless Im making a cd, and I delete them afterwards. I make plenty of cds though Wink

Question: Does it matter if you don't have the song in your database anymore, like in my case? Or will they go after you if they find out that it's even been downloaded?
