Each game for each system has one special character, Link for the Gamecube, Spawn for the Xbox, and Heihachi for the PS2. I wouldn't say he's cheating...namco wanted a tekken fighter to be in the ps2 verse of soul calibur 2 so they picked heihachi...you won't see him in mortal kombat thats for sure.

ps2, i knew it was a guy from teken 4, didnt remember his name, thanks. i have yet to have the cash or the ability to get this game, i love the arcade version im drooling to try it at home, without all the creepy gameing dorks watching me at the arcade.....

it's always an anomoly to see a chick playing fighting games in the arcade.

I plan on purchasing the Gamecube version, eventually. Probably wait until used copies are on the shelf. These days, its the only way I can afford to buy a game.

Man, this is the one time I wish I had an X-Box over my PS2. When I heard they had Spawn in their version, I was so jealous. Well, at least having a PS2 with Heihachi is not as bad as having a GameCube with that faggy looking Link character. :lol:

Overall, I love the game. It is basically the same exact thing as the original Soul Calibur, but I was so into that game that I don't mind is being similar. What I don't get is how they can say that the original was the #1 3-D fighting game of all time. I mean it was great and all, but it was only on the Dreamcast and that wasn't necessarily a popular system considering it died within a year. How could that many people have known about it to make it #1 of all time?

Okay, now I ask, who is your favorite character in the game (locked or unlocked)? I haven't unlocked all of them, even though I'm pretty sure who they are, but my favorite has to be this Necrid guy. He is the closest thing to Spawn considering he was created by Todd McFarlane as well and I love the "ghost-like" weapons that shoot out of knowhere when performing moves. That and he is uber-powerful, just like Astaroth and Nightmare.

Okay, last question. Do any of you have trouble pulling off the throwing moves? For some reason I don't recall having to hit two buttons simultaneously to do it on the Dreamcast. Now whenever I try it with the PS2 controller, it works maybe half the time because I am a fraction of a second off on hitting them together. Once that happens, you are fucked and vulnerable to an attack. Any suggestions?

I rented the Gamecube version over the weekend and man, what a great game. I definitely look forward to owning a copy of it sooner than later.

And not a fuckin' word about Link being a faggy character - face me and I will crush you using said "faggy character".


But yeah...having Spawn would have been cool as well.
