But driver only gets hit with DWI charge

Can someone explain to me how this guy drives off a boat ramp, gets himself and his girlfriend out of the car, yet three kids drown. And he only gets charged with DWI?? Here's my theory, it's another one of those Susan Smith type cases where the kids get killed so the couple can be together without the "hinderance" of children. I dunno you would think they would have at least TRIED to get the kids out of the car. Kinda fishy, don't ya think??
