Enter the next video game turned motion picture. I just found this trailer for House of the Dead.

I never played this game even though I've heard tons about it.
For all of those that have played it, considering all the games that could have been turned into a movie, was this a good choice?
Never understood how a first person shooter could be made into a movie....The game is pretty tough.

Actually, it should be even easier than the ones based on third-person shooters (like Tomb Raider or Resident Evil), since the main characters are less developed-- after all, the player is filling in the character's perspective, and you can take greater liberties with them in the movie.

Like most video games-turned-movie, it'll probably have its good moments, and its bad ones. Or it could look like another generic horror flick with an absurd amount of gunfire and/or explosions.
They need to make another Mortal Kombat flick to redeem themselves from the trainwreck that was Annihilation

"YOUR SOUL IS MINE!!!"

House of the Dead is one of the ONLY games of extreme violent nature that i've ever gotten into. IMO it's far better than Resident Evil(which sucked alot of ass on small and big screens alike).

Hopefully this movie will do better.
Is there a writers strike in Hollywood that they haven't told us about?

This is really scrapping the bottom of the barrel. I guess with the comic book movies this was the next logical step.

A month before it hit's video stores.

I heard they're in the works for mortal kombat 3.

As far as the house of the dead movie go's, i enjoyed playing house of the dead 1 and 2 in the arcades and i'll probably go see when it comes to the big screen.
Just saw the trailer it looks pretty good, i wonder if they talked to George A. Romero during filming.
I say make a movie based on Grand Theft Auto. You can even get Ray Liotta to play the lead. Wink
