Hey, I visit the same sites everyday at work, I dont stray. Creature of habit I guess you could say. But I have a problem, my homepage has been set to www.findthewebsiteyouneed.com and I cant change it. The homepage option has been "greyed out". I know this has happened before, and I forget how I fixed it. Anyone know how to? Id also love to find and e mail address for these assholes that run that site that forced its way onto my home page. Can anyone help me with my problem?

If you take the path prescribed here, however, you will have to edit your system's registry. If you are unsure of how to do that, or unwilling to do so, the next option would be uninstall Internet Explorer (go to Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel, then select Windows Components), and then reinstall a clean version.

And before you do any of this, run an antivirus program and/or SpyBot, to check for any Trojan viruses, which are usually the cause for this sort of thing.
Shit, I have no admin rights.
If you run Spybot - you don't need to make any registry changes manually. Spybot will do it for you automatically. If that doesn't clear it up, go run AdWare right after it.

Your lock on your homepage is because the dipshits put a variable in your registry that prevents you from changing it. Unless you're a geek who knows his way around, don't do it manually. Spybot is pretty good at killing shit like that.

And stay off the porn sites. That's probably how you got infected.

deek - run spybot. You don't need admin rights to run it. Unless they've locked you out of installing ANY programs. in which case....

you're ....fucked! Shit out of Luck....up the creek without a paddle....

I ran spy bot, now my homepage is completely blank, which is better than what it was, but I still cant assign a new home page. Again, I thank you for the help.
