andrew was actually only a 4 when it hit land. i was about 80 miles north of the eye at the time and we didn't get much worse than a bad storm. a few branches off trees, but nothing major. where it hit was bad though, i saw a few homes on top of other homes, but only in a fairly small area. isabel was a lot bigger i guess, but still i wasn't expecting a whole lot from it up here. and so far all i've gotten is light rain and a few gusts of wind. kinda dissapointing really.
i think it was pearl a few years back, we went out and flew a kite in it. that was fun...
Im so disappointed in this "hurricane", here I was, looking for some excitement, and I get kite flying weather. Figures. Thats my luck.
