Well... more like they're going to gauge how American audiences react to their attempt, since this is going to be a theatrical release of a movie already on DVD (all regions, so you may be able to hunt down a subtitled version).
Essentially, it's being described as a sort of anime-style hybrid of sci-fi and action.

It opens here in NYC and LA on Oct. 17<sup>th</sup>; not sure about nationwide for you folks outside those two cities.
I've seen occasional commercials for it, and it looks solid. But that's what teasers are designed for.
