I'm sitting here after about 4 hours sleep, and possibly still drunk from last night...thinkin of what to do on a quiet Saturday...then it hits me...i haven't cooked in a bit, and I defrost a bunch of stuff and throw it in the crockpot. Might as well make a stew/chili that takes care of dinner the next two..TWO...nights.

I start with half a bottle of Tomato sauce...Barilla Garlic & Onion sauce fits the bill. Then I add Terriyaki sauce into that...which is the base I'll use to drop a london broil with. I add red wine to the base, too. After the londow boil is in the crockpot, I add veggies (in this case some sort of mixed veggie blend of mushrooms, onions, broccoli, etc. Then on top of this, I add cut-up sausage. Then I turn the fucker on, and just leave it on LOW-setting all day. If I had Ground Veal, I'd have added that to my base, too...but i'm out. This stew is bascially just contigent on whats in the fridge and freezer...kind of a spare-parts deal. The tomato-terriyaki base really will give any meat a certain flavor, so whether it's ground turkey, veal, beef, chicken...doesn't really matter.

So...that's my little Gooch stew which will feed my apartment for the next few days. Later, I'll add BBQ sauce, or red wine, or even Jack Daniels to the concotion to flavor, as well as some Monterry Jack cheese. We shall see.

What recipes or conctions are you known for??
I would post my recipe for cheese grits again, <a href=http://board.yourmomsbox.net/viewthread.php?tid=1563&page=1 target=new>except for some strange reason it seems to inspire quotes from "My Cousin Vinny"</a>.
I make chili...ground beef or turkey, a couple of cans of tomato sauce. A hearty helping of chili powder. A little bit of Lawrys seasoned salt maybe a table spoon. About four or 5 shakes of minced onion, minced garlic. About 3 shakes of Montreal Steak seasoning. Chop up one red and one green pepper. And three shakes of crushed red pepper. mix well. Simmer over a medium/low flame for about a half hour to 45 minutes. Stirring about every five minutes to keep it from burning on the bottom. Let sit and cool for about ten minutes then serve.

I also make a killer grilled chicken salad. sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, Lawrys seasoned salt, and Montreal Steak Seasoning over the boneless skinless chicken cutlets and grill em up. If you have a Foreman Grill I recommend using that. Grill till slightly burnt. Slice em up and put em up in the salad. For the salad, lettuce, green and red peppers, grape tomatoes, croutons, onions diced. That's about it. Enjoy..
The only things I make well are my Baked Ziti (with home made sauce), Vegeterian Chilli, and Turkey Chilli.

I'm just too lazy to remember the recipies right now.
I make an excellent chicken breast sandwich...

ingredients:

$5.39 (american)

Instructions:

- drive up to your local wendy's and enter the drive thru.

- Proceed up to the menu/speaker device.

- await for the human voice to greet you and ask you for your "order". They tend to say "Welcome to Wendy's, can I take your order?" (Wendys must be OPEN in order for this to work)

- just say "Lemme get a numbah 7, with a coke" Feel free to modify your sandwich at this point. Want onions? ask for it. With cheese? just say so...it's that easy. (note - cheese WILL increase your price, plan accordingly)

- the voice will ask you to "drive up" so do so.

- hand over the $5.39 to the nice person behind the magical sliding window...

- now, head up to the next lil window and pick up my excellent chicken sandwich, fries and drink.

BON APPETIT! Confusedpin:
