Metallica's record sales in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) are as follows:

"Kill 'Em All" (1983) – 3 million
"Ride The Lightning" (1984) – 5 million
"Master of Puppets" (1986) – 6 million
"…And Justice For All" (1988) - 8 million
"Metallica" (1991) – 13 million
"Load" (1996) – 5 million
"Reload" (1997) – 3 million
"S&M" (1999) – 5 million
"St. Anger" (2003) – 2 million

How the mighty have fallen!!
The last album was a "Love It or Hate It" type deal. At least it didn't sound like the Loads. I don't think they're dead yet...
Awwno...
It's that pesky napster!
Rolleyes
MrCrowley...how many albums have YOU sold?

just wondering.

For the record - St. Anger....LOVE IT!! [Image: e3a52da0.gif]
Yep, it's Napster and Nero burning software, not the fact that their music isn't as good as it used to be.

:lol::lol:

Too bad they don't understand that.
you either grow and evolve with them or simply stay left behind, coddling AJFA and the likes for all of eternity. Face it, 1989 is OVER. Move on people, move on.

I'll defend St. Anger until my last breath.

SET IT FREE!!!!!! \m/
I just get tired of the whole anti file sharing thing. Funny thing is I don't really partake in file sharing that much either. I still like Metallica, just not enough to run out and buy their new cds.
We don't give a shit what you think of their latest album.

The simple fact is that they lashed out at everyone else instead of being personally accountable for their record sales.
