Ok... I have devised a preliminary hack that seems to do the job.
You can find the link at the top of the page on the main forum display. Let me know if there are any issues.
ok...now howsabout refining that to work in each forum, instead of marking the whole board at once?

i don't like it. after you click it, & then you try to go to todays posts you get "No matches were found"
hence why being able to apply it independently to forums would be a better application.
