Whichever story is true, the point is we got him.

I do believe that he was captured by a Kurdish militia, and subsequently handed over to US troops, simply because a)it makes sense, b) news reports just prior to the announcement of Hussein's capture back that up, and c) this is an administration that is known to lie even about the small things, in order to make themselves look as good as possible.

Really, I'd prefer 1000 little white lies like this over one really big, harmful lie (Niger).

If it doesn’t come from an American it can’t be true in his eyes.
He believes that a general who is paid to follow someone else orders are truthful.
He might want to think that it would be in the generals best interests also.

You know this how? This we're back to insults again? I win! Big Grin

Quote:Again, show me a single credible source and maybe I might believe you.
So a report from a Kurdish official, quoted in the Washington Post BEFORE Saddam Hussein's capture was made public, isn't enough for you?

What do you need, a picture of GW Bush smirking in front of a spider hole with a fake turkey?

You agree that all the (unnamed) Kurdish "official" said was that he was caught. He was in custody for quite sometime before they announced it, so I guess that's a dead argument. Next?

I am endlessly amazed at the lengths people will go not to believe something that's staring them in the face. It's really almost childish. (OK, this is the part that you make the basless accusation that I believe everything America says.)

Unnamed Kurdish official? Why, you must be referring to a different article, since the one I linked to specifically does mention not one, but two names.

Quote:\"I confirm that Saddam has been arrested,\" Nazem Dabag, representative in Iran of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), told Reuters.

The official Iranian news agency IRNA quoted PUK leader Jalal Talabani as saying that Saddam had been captured in his home town of Tikrit.

\"The American forces in Tikrit announced that Saddam was arrested on Sunday. The Americans said that they will announce the news officially in the next few hours,\" IRNA quoted Talabani as saying.

There you go, since you missed it the first time.

No, this is the part where I say I, unlike you, am above ad hominems and strawmen.

And here's something you might find interesting:

Ad Hominem: "Am I reading your analogy correctly? If I am, you have truly shown your ignorance. "

Ad Hominem: "Or is it that goshdurn libural media?" (far from a redneck or stupid, whatever your insinuation was)

As for your source, let's make a deal. I don't use Fox and NewsMax, you don't use DU and Pacifica.org. Not like they don't have an axe to grind or an agenda to advance right? But you just go right ahead think that you're open-minded and fair-thinking.

"I confirm that Saddam has been arrested," Nazem Dabag, representative in Iran of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), told Reuters.

We were over this, but OK. The Iranian confirms he was arrested. Wow. There's a scoop and a half, huh? Do you think it was possible that we notified the tribal leaders before we notified the press? I think it was probable. Still doesn't say that the Kurds got him, just that he was got.

Next:
The official Iranian news agency IRNA quoted PUK leader Jalal Talabani as saying that Saddam had been captured in his home town of Tikrit.

More Iranians (they wouldn't have an axe to grind either), but OK. Another bearded Walter Winchell announcing to the world that....Saddam had been captured in (Saddam's) home town. Stop the presses on that one, huh?

Maybe it's this ignorance you keep talking about but...I don't see where this fantastic source of yours says that the Kurds caught him, drugged him and left him for the Americans. Maybe it's my reading comprehension, I dunno.

Again, there's nothing CREDIBLE to the story. Not a scintilla of proof. I keep asking and asking but you never seem to provide proof just some guy in Iran stating the obvious about what happened in Iraq. Stick your your guns, rant and rave irrationally that those durn Kurds got him and stamp your feet that this country is evil and lies all the time. Just don't call me ignorant or insinuate that I'm a redneck when you're proven wrong. It's distasteful.

Barring any new earth breaking developments, I think we're all done here, no?
Laz? Read above and have a Merry Christmas.

And.... backatcha
I am finished talking to you.
