So, now that the Oscars are finally over, what did everyone think?

I had only seen one of the "big" movies this year, which was The Lord of the Rings. So aside from rooting for that one I had absolutely no interest in watching the show and thus I didn't.

I was happy to hear that LOTR did



all the categories they were nominated in. That was pretty cool.


So, for those that did watch it, did any of the actors/actresses get on their soapboxes and force their political views down our throats as they've been known to do in the past?
I saw Sean Penn and Tim Robbins both won and they are two of the biggest activists out there in Hollywood. What better time to bitch and moan how we are torturing the rest of the world.

There were a few comments made but nothing major...I cringed when I heard some rants start. Not necessary.

With lotr winning 11, it ties titanic and ben hur with the most oscar wins in history.

People watch these things?

i tried to, but my short attention span got the better of me after about 3 awards.

Its so pompous and pointless. I painted my toe nails instead.

I'm looking at the yahoo slideshow for it. That's all I need to see.

So far I've gained the confirmation that Peter Jackson is still scarily hairy.

And Renee Zelweger still has that condescending looking like she's better than everyone and feels sorry for them look on her face.

Sean Penn still looks like he ate a lemon.
