If you are into boxing and like sports games, I strongly suggest you pick up this new EA Sports title.

They have finally made a game worthy of the sport of boxing. Every title in the past always had something too arcade-like about it, but this year they revamped the whole thing and made it quite realistic.
They could have added some more boxers to the list, as there are some notable omissions, but overall it's a decent lineup.

Plus, for you online junkies, it allows you to fight against opponents from all over. Drop your guns and see if you can drop someone with your fists instead. (Not you Laz, we already know what you're capable of. )
Seriously though, if you like these type games, you won't be disappointed.
I played the demo and its pretty good, I totally agree with everything you said flock ill probably pick up a copy this weekend.

Here are the features.

Your road to the title will be full of young up-and-coming fi ghters, as well as proven champions (including Roy Jones, Jr. and Lennox Lewis), and legends like Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard. With over 32 licensed boxers, EA SPORTS Fight Night 2004 is the undisputed champion of the virtual squared circle.

All-New Total Punch Control—Hammer the competition with this innovative new feature—the right analog stick becomes an intuitive extension of your fists, giving you total control of every punch.

Stick and Move—Use the analog sticks to bob and weave, block punches, and frustrate opponents by shutting down and countering their attacks.

Be the Ultimate Fighting Machine—Create a fighter who looks exactly like you in Career mode, and work your way from amateur to title contender to undisputed champion.

Rearrange Faces—Realistic damage effects show the freshly infl icted cuts and swelling resulting from each punch.

Customize Your Ring Entrance—Psych out your opponent, show your personality, and win over the crowd with your hand-chosen music, special effects, and entourage.

Knock ‘em Out Online—Step into the online ring and go toe-to-toe against other top fi ghters to see how you stack up against the nation’s best.
i haven't played a boxing game since mike tyson's punch out.

i think i'll rent this next time i'm in blockbuster.
Bought this game the day it came out and Ive been playing ever since. Im fuckin addicted.

Whats cool about this game is that the people age and retire in career mode. so you cant take all your time staying low in the ranks fighting all the easier guys, just so you can build your stats. I tried this in the begining but i see guys that i have beaten like 2 or three times getting up in the ranks past me anyway. Another good thing about this game is that its not too easy either. Your guy wont get up right away even after an early knock down. Thats if you have it set on auto recovery. If you try to do it yourself, you may be able to get up faster. dont know cuz i havent tried it yet, lol.

oh and another thing is that this game finally got it right with the girls women that ho9ld the round cards, finally somthing to consider looking at, lol.
I just played the Demo and I'm disappointed in the lack of ability to just kick the living shit out someone. I would really like an online Ultimate Fighting Championship type of game.

Why must I suffer through these horrible titles? All I want is a little bit of realism and lot's of blood.

I don't think these are online, but in case you haven't checked them out, here are a couple of games you might like.

UFC: Throwdown
Pride FC
Those are both good games, but my psychotic nature needs something like them online.

You can only beat the shit out of friends so much before they throw in the towel and refuse to play against you any more.
Here is the next one coming out. Once again, not sure if it has online, but you may like it.

UFC: Sudden Impact
There hasnt been a good boxing game since the second Knockout Kings, being the fan I am, I shall check it out.
I went into my local Hollywood Video yesterday and I had a chance to look at the game in motion. It does look great. I didn't get a chance to play it though.

I'll probably rent it.
