I lost my CD-RW software CD (B's Recorder Gold 5) and my scanner software CD. I cant use them without it, any idea where I can download this software or get a replacement CD? The CD-RW is a Sony CRX215A1 and the scanner is an Artec e+48u. I contacted Sony, and their customer service is shit, like it is for EVERYTHING they sell. And I havent heard back from artec. Any ideas?

I only copy cd's and burn mp3s, it did that fine. I have adaptec installed on my pc, but it wont recognize the sony cd-rw because its not my factory installed burner.
Go to the manufacturers website. The software should be there.
sony isn't good at giving out free software. I ran into the same problem with my mini-disc player. sony sucks
Sony customer service for ANYTHING sucks ass. All they care is that you buy their stuff, after that, youre on your own.

If Adaptec/Roxio's Easy CD Creator is still having trouble detecting your writer, try this:
Download the latest <a href=http://aspi.radified.com/ target=new>ASPI layers</a> from the <a href=http://clonecd.gearhost.net/clonecd/forceASPI17.zip>Clone CD website</a> (the first link defines ASPI layers for you, and you can just right-click the second link and "Save Target As...").
Update Easy CD Creator's CD-writer list:
Go here to select the latest updates to your version of the program: <a href=http://www.roxio.com/en/support/software_updates.jhtml target=new>Update site</a>. Make sure you get the most recent patch, and also download the "Drive Update"-- this handles the list of drives supported by the program.
Install the ASPI layer first (reboot if necessary), then any Adaptec updates.
If none of that works... try switching to Nero.
As for your Artec: you can either download the drivers from <a href=http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=123132 target=new>Driverguide.com</a> (however, you'll need to sign up for it-- but it's free, plus they have a <i>ton</i> of drivers for anything else you might need), or you can get them <a href=http://info.ultima.com.tw/fae/Service_e/software%20download/Download_usb_e.htm target=new>here</a> for free (scroll down to where it says "Ultima 2000 e+ 48U").
TY Brain. I found my Artec software. So thats not a problem anymore. Ive tried several other burning softwares, ALL of them were either completely full of the most heinous spyware, or they would completely lock up my system. Ive tried updating my adaptec, but its so old, it cant be updated. So I downloaded the latest trial version, and it STILL wouldnt recognize my burner AS a burner. Its alright though, Ive found another software that works just fine. Thanks for the help though.
