When you think of your all time favorite songs, do your favorite artists/bands immediately come to mind?
In my case that's definitely a no. My favorite band ever is and probably always will be AC/DC, but I can honestly say if I were to list what I feel are the top 5 greatest songs ever, there wouldn't be an AC/DC song in there at all. Maybe top 10, but definitely not top 5.
What about all of you? Does your favorite artist/band automatically equate to your favorite song?

i don't think my favorite band sings my favorite song. i really don't know the exact answer for either, but i'm pretty sure they differ.
This is a tough topic, but right now, one of my all time faves is "Would?" by Alice in Chains.
I like way too many different kinds of music for different reasons to have a favorite anything.

have to agree with that. Also, rooster has got me through some rough times.
my "favorite song of all time" changes frequently.
My favorite "band of all time" rotates between Metallica and Opeth.
My favorite song changes by minute... but the song I consider to be the one that stands out amongst them all... is "Careful with that Axe Eugene" by Pink Floyd. It changed my whole perspective to what music can even be. I was a 15-year-old little mullet wearing dirtbag at the time and I was never the same since. Just so happens Floyd would be my all time favorite band so I guess I fall into the that forumla.
