Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm looking for Hudson County, East Essex County, South Bergen County area. I want either a Townhouse or Duplex situation, or private home (not a two family).

I've been looking online at various websites, and I'm at the point where I have to start making appointments to visit places. The fucking classifieds on nj.com all lead to pay services, that I'm not sure I want to pay for because they usually don't have more than information that is readily available elsewhere.

Does anyone know of any apartments available or communities where I could start looking. I'm pretty much blind about looking in Jersey, and some direction would be welcomed.
i've been looking for a new one in hudson county as well. there's lots of non-pay ones on nj.com if you keep on scrolling because they post the ads that are in the jersey journal, etc. that day. other than that, the only way i've done it is look in local papers, nj.com, and websites like rent.com and apt.com that like to list luxury apts more than anything (waste of time). The only other route is to go to a realtor - that's how I got my current place and it seems all the nicer apts can be had through them these days. Hudsonreporter.com, I believe also has classifieds. How many rooms/rent are you looking for? If Bayonne is an option I'll keep an eye out in the paper for you when I look.

Oh also forgot to mention craigslist.org is a decent resource as well. You can find anything on there, even hookers.
The only good view of New Jersey is in the rearview mirror
I'm willing to pay up to 1500. I am looking at Bayonne but I don't know about the commute to the city from there. Rent.net has been the most thorough one so far for me. I haven't checked out Craigslist or Hudsonreporter. I'm off to attend to that right now.
1500 should net you something pretty nice. Commuting to the city isn't hard at all. There are several buses that run during the day and there is always taking the Hudson-Bergen light rail to the path. In fact, on the corner of where I live there is a bus to downtown Manhattan that runs at rush hours and is only about a 20 min ride.
theres an apartment for rent in my building in union city, but i guess you're not looking for an apartment.
If I could afford 1500 a month, I could buy a very nice house. I only pay 725 a month in rent for a 3 BR single house with 1/4 acre.
Keyser- Is that apartment a duplex?

Rooner- I know that I should buy, but I don't have enough saved for a downpayment, plus I don't think I'm ready yet for the responsibility of a house. I figure in 3 yrs.

Where do you rent a house for $750, and will I have the pleasure of having Fire Marshal Bill as my neigbor should i start looking around there?
nah, its not a duplex.

Im too far away for you Sil, Im in the Philly suburbs. The houses for rent in my area for your price range are like 4 and 5 bedroom places with at least a 1/2 acre and 2 car garage. And you dont really need much for a downpayment, especially if you can get seller assist.
