another point, you need a subscription for each reciever you own. So basically, if you're receiver isn't multi-purpose, you're throwing your money down the drain.

Although, it needs to be a mobile unit that can have multiple power sources (ac jack, cigarrette lighter in the car, battery) and multiple outputs (headphone jack, fm broadcast.
That way someone could buy one box and use it in almost every application that they want.
That might make it easier for people to stomach the investment.

if shows like O&A bring more listeners, the demand for better receivers will increase and they'll come up with something better. However, I'm sure the power requirements for receiving a satellite signal is a bit more than receiving a broadcast signal.
