I didn't see it here, so I just wanted to let everyone know that according to Radio and Records, Fred Hughes, Opie's dad, died over the weekend in a car accident.
His mother was also injured, and the funeral is being delayed until she can leave the hospital.
yeah...i saw this on the NYRMB, but if anyone has a link to an actual article, i'll be a lot more inclined to believe it.

I saw the original article at radioandrecords.com under "Street Talk" in the news section. So it's legit.
Anybody got am e-mail addy so we can drop a letter of condolences to Opie???
