I'm just a non-smoker who enjoys watching all you smokers step outside - not because I can't handle the smoke, but because it pisses you off.

I also think complaining about this law is silly, as the law is inevitable. Even if you turn it around, it will return, so accept it.
The rush hour crowds in Midtown and the god damn tourists.

But that is part of the charm... if not for the tourists
1. the city wouldn't make as much money coming in
2. I would have to drag residents into the alleys and rob them of there worldly goods.

Yeah, it does piss me off. It's a fucking bar, people are fucking themselves up left and right and yet I can't smoke because that'll hurt them. Other people do shit all the time that's legal but bad for them but which ultimately affects me as well, although not in a direct physical sense. If the gov't wants to regulate behavior, let them regulate all the behaviors. No, I'm not in favor of that, but I'm sick of smoking being legal yet not being allowed to do it anywhere.

And just because a law is inevitable, you shouldn't argue it? I disagree that it has to be inevitable, although it's probably pretty likely in this situation. Although, I read an article about how businesses in NYC are complaining how the law has hurt them financially. Throw money into the equation and you never know what'll happen.
bar owners should have the option to decide what is permissable in their establishment. this is the gov't dictating the capatilistic endeavors of businesses in NYC.
