when does a thread get designated as "chat"?

when is a "game" thread ok?

what constitutes a quality thread?

there are a LOT of forums here...
is there a Political debate one? if not it's a good idea....

but how many quality threads actually exist?

and is "quality" something that can be universally applied?
We've got a lot of forums.... I'm thinking that if we have a forum for every kind of topic, there wouldn't be much point to this forum. We could just rename it "Chat Room" and be done with it.

Let me expand on Ken's idea and pose a little YMB challenge to everyone...... find OA threads that you would consider a "good" thread.
that was kinda my point FTL,
if there are forums for "serious" and "quality" discussions, as long as those threads are not defiled, is there harm in having ONE open free for all forum?

Over 1900 posts, over 26,000 views... the true free-for-all thread.

Work with that.
I thought that was what we were against
a quality thread is one that people keep posting in. the content will always be subejctive. since postings drive threads to pop to top, it renders individuals personal opinion kind of useless...b/c the fact it still goes, is merit unto itself.
This was a good one.

Political forums always work. Lots of seriousness there. It also depends on the quality of people, tho, too. Rolleyes
