A true staple to the New Jersey Devils franchise has retired today at the age of 39. Daneyko was one of my favorite Devils and one of their best. His 18 years with the Devils were absolutely amazing and his heart and passion for the team was second to none. Daneyko was a main part of the Devils over the years and was always a force on the ice. He had a love for the game and especially the Devils organization, that was shown by his 1,283 games with the Devils. He was a true warrior on the ice and a great player. I'll definetly miss him.

Kenny kenny Kenny... drinks are on the house.
As much as I liked Daneyko, it's about time. He just hasn't been the player he used to be and it showed on the ice.

You have to respect a player though that spends his whole career with one team. You very rarely see that anymore in sports.

So, is the retirement dinner going to be held at Mezzanote? Wink
I'm happy for him that he decided to retire a champion, rather than keep playing. I think it was awsome that hes played only for one team for 20 years. Like Flock said, that rarely happens in sports anymore.

He was one of the toughest players in the league and he never gave up, no matter what happened to him. Good luck Ken.
