Camcorders - header - 12-01-2003 Honestly not exactly sure what the difference is I know my camcorder is hi8 and the movie I worked on this summer shot in minidv. So I am guessing the minidv is a better quality. But I just not sure by how much. Camcorders - Ronin - 12-01-2003 the website said that the minidv has anti-jitter and the quality is better.. the hi8 was good for dvd and vhs.. plus, the minidv cams were more expensive.. that was also a clue.. ![]() Camcorders - header - 12-01-2003 It depends on what you're trying to do. I've noticed when I was shooting with the mini dv. Actually the Canon xl-1 which is like a $4,000 camera if theres too much motion the camera can't keep up and you get pixelation. So I'm sure the cheaper minidvs prolly have the same problems. I've never had any problems with my little hi8 $300 camcorder. So I dunno if your just shooting family home videos I'd say stick with hi8. And the sonys are good. Camcorders - Sloats - 12-01-2003 Quote:Originally posted by Suzie Get stoned and high every week? I am impressed by your memory of the inane little details of my life. I now have two broken 27" televisions (after my son broke the first one we bought another one with a service plan) Pretty soon we may have two functioning 27" televisions. Rock! Camcorders - header - 12-01-2003 Quote:Originally posted by Ronin From my experience it doesn't happen as much with the Hi8 I think I have some kind of anti pixelation thingamajig. There might actually be a setting on the minidv to counter that problem but I don't know. From my experience minidv pixelates and hi8 doesn't.
