Archie wasn't bothering anyone! He just wanted to sit in his favorite chair and not be bothered with anyone. I feel for him, look at all he had to deal with. His wife with her annoying voice, the only time she should have opened her yap was to give ole Arch a piper. His liberal, tree hugging daughter who would later balloon up and eat a third world country out of house and home. Meathead, another one who would balloon up and make bad movies like North. I guess its an issue of who I was more readily able to identify with back then.
however, in the Jeffersons defense - there was enough tv back then that solely cater to "dah white folk"...see what I'm getting at?
