I'm sure rooner will happy that all those flexing and stretching exercises he's been doing will finally pay off. He now has an actual reason to bend over and kiss his ass goodbye....

Awwww, look, you missed me.

As long as we launch something within, say, 3 years, that will get to the asteroid with years to spare, then it would probably only need a small trajectory correction to knock it off of an Earth-crossing orbit....
Let's kill two birds with one stone...

We can gather up all the earth's trash, put it into one huge ball on top of a rocket, and shoot that at the asteroid. And if that huge stinky garbage ball should ever happen to return to Earth in, oh say, 1,000 years, well it will be someone else's problem, right? Big Grin

Hopefully by then, someone will invent a smelloscope to find it. Or at least a death clock.

So what kinda cookies ya got? :grin2:

I posted about this subject over a year ago, on the old board. There is an asteroid named Erros 433 which will come dangerously close to the Earth in the year 2012. Strangely this asteroid has been removed from Nasa's public data base. I wonder why?
